1966 GT40 MKII

MKII GT40s are all the rage since the academy award winning blockbuster “Ford v Ferrari” hit the big screen late last year. The story of Carroll Shelby, Ken Miles and the GT40s that beat Ferrari at Le Mans put these cars into the limelight worldwide. With people itching to get their own 40-inch-tall “racecar,” Superformance built GT40P2178 as a tribute to one of the original cars that took the top three positions overall in 1966.

Authenticity was the Superformance engineers' goal when recreating P2178. It carries the GT40/P chassis number and is built to the exact standards of the car back in 1966. It is so authentic that over two thirds of the rolling chassis parts are interchangeable with GT40's built in the 1960s.

The Titanium Silver paint with Jet Black twin stripes is a gorgeous color that compliments the sleek body lines. Other exterior features includes twin Gurney Bubbles, 17” Aluminum Pin Drive Halibrand style wheels and period correct fog lights. Plus Factory Air Conditioning to cool you down. Other features include Exhaust Cutouts with electric Cut-Outs to bypass the mufflers, Rear View Mirror with Integrated Reverse Camera, GT40 Floor and Sill Mats, and Alcantara Interior.

While the exterior is truly a showstopper, the heart of the beast drops jaws.

Equipped with a Roush 427IR Windsor block topped off with 8 Stack Electronic Fuel Injection, this engine pumps out 560 horsepower and 540 torque. With so much power, a stout RBT 5 Speed Transaxle is necessary to deliver the power to the pavement and push this car, like Ken Miles did, to incredible limits.

GT40P2178 is titled in Nevada as a 1966 Ford and would cost well over $220,000 to recreate. GT40P2178 has just over 10,100 miles on the chassis and is currently available for $184,950.
