Overview

1962 Ford Fairlane

This stunning 1962 medium blue metallic Ford Fairlane is ready for anything. The paint is showcar quality, the drivetrain is track ready and even the cockpit operated electric exhaust has cut-outs for your choice of wild or tame.

This Fairlane had its powerplant removed in favor of a 302-cubic-inch 400HP Ford Racing crate engine. Topped by a Holley 650-cfm carburetor and a Holman-Moody intake, the pushrod V8 further boasts MSD ignition, GT40 aluminum heads, a Moroso eight-quart oil pan, forged pistons and rods, an electric cooling fan, and an auxiliary oil cooler.

The 22-gallon fuel cell out back paints a clear picture about this car's tracking capabilities, along with the Currie 9.0-inch rear end complemented by a helical-gear Detroit Truetrac limited-slip differential with 3.75 gears. Long-tube headers and a stainless-steel exhaust system with an X-pipe help the pushrod V8 breathe out, and the powerplant's resources are channeled to the rear axle by one of the best trannies in the biz, a Tremec T-5. This T-5 supply's a highway friendly 5th gear overdrive. It also features a hydraulic clutch, pedals set for heel-toe, and an electric trans cooler operated by cockpit switch.

Painted in blue with a gold roof, silver painted pinstripe, Shelby Talbot side mirror, and replica period side decals, its riding on American Racing 15-inch wheels and Avon tires. Features a 10-point welded in roll-cage with extensive square tube / plate chassis stiffening, and double hinged front hood which raises at high speeds for cooling. Further upgraded with the steering box of a 1965 Ford Fairlane and a 1.0-inch sway bar up front, she relies on four-piston disc brakes and 11-inch drums for stopping power.

The stripped-out cabin suits the character of the vehicle. Safecraft five-point harnesses, twin Recaro leather Pole Position race buckets (driver with sliders), a fire-suppression system, and an ignition cut-off are featured. The quick-release steering wheel frames Stewart-Warner instruments that include a six-digit odometer that shows approximately 1,150 miles. Needs nothing to be enjoyed, all features fully functional and serviced.

Comes with a clean California title, receipts, car cover, and few spare parts. This beautiful 1962 Ford Fairlane (VIN:2R41L131205) is available for $74,950.
